What Is To Come

My apologies about the short hiatus - I have been very busy with work, revision for exams, and have just about been able to keep up with the smaller communities I am a part of.

I’ve got exams beginning tomorrow, and these will last for a few weeks - although I will be getting a few breaks in between. So, I’m going to be a spoil-sport and tell you what’s coming next! If you want to find out, read on

First of all, I have been looking at EnGarde Secure Linux, and it looks very nice. So, I plan on setting up a web + FTP server at home and testing it out. I have also been asked to write a review on it, so I will be doing that - and, lucky for you, I’m posting it here as well

I also want to write a short article about setting up a simple FTP server on your home network, to store and share files off your computer. I have not decided what distro I will be using for that yet, but I’ll try out the best ones for the job when the time comes.

I’m also thinking of doing a tutorial on FreeNX, “an exciting new technology for remote display” which “provides near local speed application responsiveness over high latency, low bandwidth links”. Oh, and possibly another one on using rdesktop to remotely administer your Windows servers/PCs.

Well, that’s about it for now - I’m sure I’ll think of more exciting stuff later! In other words, keep your heads up for the great tutorials on their way
