One A Day
July 21, 2006 on 10:34 am | In Hyperactive |I have been on another short hiatus, and I have no excuse for it other than my own laziness! A few problems here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary… Except the fact that I’m travelling to the UK every other week.
So what is this post’s title all about? One a day? What does that mean? Read on.
A while back I promised you a series of tutorials, and I told you what they were in advance. I haven’t written a single one of them yet - but, believe me, they will come eventually!
In the meantime, I intend to keep you entertained by reviewing one Linux distribution a day. Yes, you read that right. However, I won’t be reviewing the mainstream distributions; I will be taking a look at some lesser known but still fairly popular distros, which have recently been appearing left, right and centre, and will provide an in-depth review of each one. How long with this “One A Day” project last? I don’t know. Until I run out of distributions to try ![]()

Sounds good! Any chance of reviewing FreeBSD and some of the other BSD as well?

Why not! If I manage to install them, that is - I’ve only ever used *BSD once. lol
I now have a new box to play with, and as I’ve just finished installing, configuring and updating the Windows partition (for games and the use of the rest of my family), I’m going to install a Linux distro. I still don’t know whether that distro will be Slackware, Ubuntu, or one for this project

Ack. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post a review today (yesterday) - the PC I was meant to be doing this on has gone belly up (a CPU problem is suspected), as I was going to do these tuts in a VM. I’ve been trying to fix it (and locate the source of the problem), so I haven’t had much time to do one today.
This comment is just to let you know that I have not forgotten, and that this project will happen - as soon as I can fix the PC
