Reveal The Holes In Your Webserver With Nikto

Having seen the (poor) quality of the HowTo Forge tutorial on Nikto, I decided to write my own. I wanted to explain every parameter in detail, rather than just pass over them as if they were not useful.

Well, after God knows how many hours of work (I hadn’t anticipated that it would take so long!), it’s up! I posted it on TAZForum, and you can find it here. I hope you like it

However, there’s something that’s annoying me.

I submitted this tutorial to Linux Today when I posted it. I gave a short description (they usually quote a part of your article anyway), the link, and put it in the Security category. Believe it or not, eight hours later, it still has not been posted there - and I doubt it will be, at this rate. Now, you tell me - how did my tutorial not get posted, and that pathetic attempt at one on HowTo Forge did?

I just don’t understand.

I haven’t submitted it to LQ - do you mean the Tutorials section?

The original idea was to get TAZForum a few more hits (and members) with the tutorial, as I thought the tutorial was going to be as popular as my Ubuntu one… Nope, I thought wrong!

I’ll submit it to LQ - good idea. And I’ll add a small link to the bottom back to its original location
